Multiple people were wounded in a knife attack that erupted near former offices of satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris on Friday, officials say.

Officers are “actively hunting” for two suspects that are on the run after injuring at least four people. Police have cordoned off the area including the former Charlie Hebdo offices after a suspect package was noticed nearby.

Two victims are suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to Reuters.

Islamic extremists attacked the offices in 2015, killing 12 people.
